Newts and kestrels

 

Young newts are plentiful and thriving in the forest. The toad tadpoles are also doing well although their puddle water is rapidly diminishing and with little sign of more rain I doubt that they will be amphibious in time.

Meanwhile young kestrels take to the air and get into a fight with a crow.
