Newts

After several days enveloped in cloud the misty landscape finally clears. I head into the forest to inspect the spawn puddle in the hope that it has cleared. It has and I use my photo flash this time with a little more success. The smaller fish-like creatures (arrowed) are definitely newts as several already have their hind legs. Meanwhile the toad tadpoles still seem to be progressing slowly but with warm weather on the way I doubt that they will survive.
