Despite the poor start to the growing season, due to the long cold spring, there are already positive signs. The chilies and peppers, grown from seeds saved from the remains of curry ingredients, are already bearing fruit and have cost me nothing. The wildflowers on the other hand seem slow to get going and insect life is still much reduced compared to this time last year.
