Stormy

Stormy weather moves in from the west bringing heavy rain and hail but it is short lived.

For the newts and tadpoles the rain is good news and may well ensure the toad tadpoles get to mature this year, unlike last year. There is certainly no shortage of water and I found more newts in another puddle.

I also found more tadpoles in a small pond (pic below), which was completely dry last year and these might be frogs as opposed to the toad tadpoles that I have been following.

A small snail slowly crosses a track.

Earlier in the morning before the storm arrived, I managed to capture this small cabbage white, but still the butterfly population is lower than usual.
