Tadpole worlds

The only butterfly I saw today was this small brown one and they seem to be the most common at the moment. The hot spell continues with little sign of rain, though it was quite cloudy. That spells trouble for these tadpoles in their ever shrinking world. I counted at least seven adult newts and countless young in the larger puddle of water next to this one, which had been cut off as the water recedes.
